Wax Paper Butterfly Wings…
Made these butterfly wings out of wax paper and twine for Mike last night. The wings were for a caterpillar party… I think playing with the wax paper was inspired by Hybrid Art. But, we did try to use a huge sheet to make a cocoonm, which failed. I like the athletic feel of it from the underarmor (he eventually put on black underarmor pants.) I can imagine him just hopping around and being ridiculous. I have visions of making the wings a bit more intricate, making wrapping the outer edge in twine to refine the shape of the wax paper to be more tubular. I think the power of the wings could be effective in large numbers. Imagine 20 or so people wearing wings and protesting… The wings could be used a statement of peace and harmony. Or just a statement dealing with peace. I mean, archetypically I think Butterflies are perceived to be beautiful, peaceful insects. What kind of person wants to crush a butterfly?
